This striking home is a blend of traditional timber-framed barn and contemporary urban loft set on fifty rolling acres of land at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains in southern Idaho. Inspired by the slender tobacco and grain barns of earlier days, this 5000 square foot modern home utilizes post and beam timber framing to create a rich yet lofty space which captures the spectacular open vistas of the site. An updated silo structure to the west provides a space for an outdoor jacuzzi in the tower and an outdoor covered porch below. The long barn structure sits below a dramatic standing seam cooper roof. The unusual geometry of the giant shed rood gives the house its distinctive look while opening up to the spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains across the valley.
