Pitzer College, one of the Claremont Colleges - a campus comprised of five independent colleges in southern California - engaged Wormser + Associates to design a new campus master plan. The two phase campus expansion utilities open space on the existing campus and seven undeveloped acres along the eastern edge to accommodate growth over the next twenty five years.

The $25 million Phase 1 plans include an administration building, classroom building and an art center. Phase ii includes a campus sports complex and playing fields, and expanded parking facilities.

The primarily pedestrian Pitzer campus was built in the late 1960's and modeled in plan after Jefferson's University of Virginia. The planned expansion adds dramatically to the small campus while maintaining its small pedestrain feel.
